As the Occupational Safety and Health Officer for the Johnson Controls - TIEM2 Project by Texas Instruments, I am dedicated to ensuring a safe and secure work environment for all employees. I acknowledge that maintaining safety at the workplace is riddled with various challenges, but I am committed to achieving our ultimate goal of zero Lost Time Injuries at Workplace. One of the significant challenges we face is the nature of our industry. Working in a construction field comes with inherent risks, such as exposure to hazardous substances, heavy machinery operation, and potential electrical hazards. However, I firmly believe that through proactive safety measures and education, we can overcome these challenges and mitigate the associated risks. To achieve our aim of zero LTIs, a comprehensive safety program will be put in place. This program will include:1. Risk Assessments 2. Training and Education 3. Safety Inspection and Audits 4. Employee Engagement5. Safety Equipment & PPEIn conclusion, by working together, we can create a safe and secure work environment for all, promoting the well-being and success of every individual involved in the project.#TIEM2 #JCI #SHO #safetyculture #texasinstruments #samsung #safetyandhealth #constructionsafety

The Process Safety FundamentalsThe Process Safety Fundamentals (PSFs) consist of a set of essential principles and practices that are vital for ensuring the safety of industrial processes, particularly those involving hazardous chemicals or materials. These fundamentals establish a framework for effectively managing and mitigating process-related hazards and reducing the risk of accidents and incidents.1. We Respect Hazards: We acknowledge the potential dangers associated with the process and prioritize their understanding and management.2. We Apply Procedures: We adhere to well-defined and documented procedures for safely operating the process, including normal operations, startup, shutdown, and emergency situations.3. We Sustain Barriers: We ensure the integrity and effectiveness of safety barriers, such as equipment, controls, and safety systems, to prevent and mitigate process hazards.4. We Stay Within Operating Limits: We operate the process within specified limits to avoid deviations that could lead to hazardous conditions or process upsets.5. We Maintain Safe Isolation: We implement proper isolation measures and procedures to isolate equipment or process sections during maintenance or emergencies to prevent unintended releases or accidents.6. We Walk the Line: We remain vigilant and adhere to established safety practices and procedures while performing tasks, ensuring that we do not compromise safety for expediency.7. We Control Ignition Sources: We identify and control potential ignition sources, such as sparks, flames, or electrical equipment, to minimize the risk of fire or explosions.8. We Recognize Change (MOC): We have a robust Management of Change (MOC) process in place to assess and manage modifications or changes to the process, equipment, materials, or procedures that could impact safety.9. We Stop if the Unexpected Occurs: We have a strong commitment to halting operations promptly if unexpected or abnormal conditions arise, allowing for evaluation and appropriate corrective actions before resuming.10. We Watch for Weak Signals: We actively monitor and recognize early warning signs or weak signals of potential process safety issues, allowing us to take proactive measures to prevent incidents.#ProcessـSafety #HSE #Petroleumـindustry #Barriers #gasـindustry#Operations #safetyـengineer #Supervision #MOC #OccupationalـSafetyـandـHealth #safetyـfirst #IOGP

As much as we strive on a daily basis on improving our career by studying to acquire more certificates, qualifications and knowledge, it's very vital to also work towards improving our "attitude, behavior and managing relationship" between colleagues and coworkers. Keeping a good and professional relationship with your previous and present employer is also very important as it might be a crossing bridge for the future. As an HSE professional your good "ABC" (Attitude, behavior and control) is inevitable as this will help you manage and integrate HSE and production without or less conflict from the production team.
